Dive into a variety of scientific fields as you help solve a mystery, stretch silly putty and slime, copper-plate nickels, tinker with circuits and investigate optical illusions. Become captivated by lasers, dry ice and hair raising experiments! You will love what happens when you mix science and fun!

Students will learn or  improve their skills in this fun camp session focusing on the basic principles of the art of drawing and painting.

Work on fun and informative projects designed to sharpen artistic skills in the areas of drawing, color theory, and composition. 

This class includes learning to draw your favorite cartoon characters from sketch to finished art.  Students can also develop their own characters.

Art Materials supplied

Campers should bring a plain white t-shirt to camp for a project.

CIT (Counselor in Training) Program Summer 2026

CIT PROGRAM 2026

Open to teens entering Grades 9 and 10 in Fall 2026

Acquire the skills you need to be a fabulous camp counselor!

Upon successful completion of the program, participants may be asked to volunteer for the remainder of the camp session. Volunteer hours may not be the entire camp day or every day.

Location: Summer Road Park

Monday June 22nd-Friday June 26th *CIT’s must be able to attend all five days*

Hours: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm

Fee: $140

Orchestra (Fiddle) Camp Grades 6-9 6/22-6/26 2026

Orchestra Camp (Fiddle Camp) at Readington Middle School

Monday-Friday June 22nd-26th 2026

9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Open to students entering Grades 6-9 in Fall 2025 with at least two years of experience on your instrument

Cost: $198

Fee includes a music camp t-shirt.  

If you register after May 21st we will do our best to get you the size you request.

Space is limited in each instrument group.

Join Mr. Jack Hasselbring (HBS, RMS Orchestra Director) for this fun camp!

If you register for camp after June 1st we cannot guarantee that we will have the exact size t-shirt you request.


Are you an orchestra member looking for a new experience? During this camp orchestra members (violin, viola, cello, bass) will have the opportunity to learn the basics of traditional Irish music (as well as some Scottish and American bluegrass). Students will learn jigs, reels and airs as well as basic ornamentation and performance practice. 

Camp hours will include sectional and full ensemble rehearsals as well as fun games and activities.

On Friday June 26th at 11:30 am, we will celebrate your students’ accomplishments with a  concert  featuring performers from both Music Camps!

Band Camp Grades 6-9 6/22-6/26 2026

Participants will learn how to play music from their favorite movies (think Disney, Marvel!) on their instruments. The focus of this camp is to foster and promote musical growth through the playing of instruments and enhancing listening skills.  

On Friday June 26th at 11:30 am, we will celebrate your students’ accomplishments with a  concert  featuring performers from both Music Camps!

The time will include sectionals, big band rehearsals, listening to different performances and getting to know the other students in the band.

Creative Theater meets the classics! We combine elements of Pirates of Penzance and HMS Pinafore, along with our Stage Swordplay class and create a fun swashbuckling play.  It’s Pirates vs. the British Navy featuring sword and quarterstaff work!

The final day is a performance of their original play for parents, family, friends and guests.

 “It Came From Outer Space”

Aliens, mad scientists, monsters and more make up our spoof of 1950’s sci-fi/monster movies! The students create the play following an outline.  It’s a battle of good vs evil, can the world be saved? We will find out this Summer as aliens, mad scientists, robots and heroes come together in “It Came From Out of Space” in Readington!

The final day is a performance of their original play for parents, family, friends and guests.

Summer Rec Camp BEFORE CARE Program 2026

Regular camp drop off begins at 8:00 am.

Summer Camp Extended Day at Healthquest 2026

This link is to register and pay for Extended Day hours held at Healthquest

This program is open to Readington Summer Rec campers registered until 3:00pm only

Fee is $640 for the 6 week session

Extended day is Mon-Thurs – 4 days a week ONLY*

*There is no Extended Day program on Fridays because we cannot get a bus on Fridays.

If your child is registered for Extended Day he/she can attend a full day of camp at Healthquest Friday July 3rd when Rec Camp is closed. There is no additional fee for this day, however, there is no transportation those two days so you will drop off and pick up your child at Healthquest. 


Pick up at Healthquest is at 6:00 pm (you can pick up before that time)

Transportation from Summer Road Park to Healthquest is included.

If Rec Camp is closed due to weather, Extended Day campers are eligible to attend full day camp at Healthquest (no bus). If Rec Camp has an early dismissal due to weather, the bus will come early and take the Extended Day campers to Healthquest.


COST IS IN ADDITION TO THE REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER REC CAMP

You must be registered for Rec Camp to register for Extended Day.

Activities included at Healthquest: Swimming (indoors and outdoors), sports, games and more.
