Location is at Whitehouse School

9:00 am – 3:00 pm (campers bring a lunch)

Cost: $195 for the weeklong camp

Hamlet…and Eggs

Creative Theater meets Shakespeare! We combine the many famous passages from Hamlet (and other Shakespeare plays)with our own comedic bits creating a performance that is unique! Using elements of swordplay along with the text campers will bring their own style to the production.

There will be a performance for friends and family on Friday August 2nd.

Students will learn or  improve their skills in this fun camp session focusing on the basic principles of the art of drawing and painting.

Work on fun and informative projects designed to sharpen artistic skills in the areas of drawing, color theory, and composition. 

This class includes learning to draw your favorite cartoon characters from sketch to finished art.  Students can also develop their own characters.

Open to students entering Grades 5-9 in Fall 2024 

Cost: $170

Join Emily Obenauer (RMS Choir Director) and Samantha Lestrange (HBS Choir Director) for this fun camp.

Camp will be rehearsals for a Friday afternoon concert on August 23rd.


Come sing a song with us! The camp mornings will consist of teamwork activities, listening activities and fun.  Campers will practice the fundamentals of singing in a chorus, including singing together in 2 parts and beyond!

Friday afternoon will be a concert to celebrate the campers’ accomplishments.

 

Flute & Fiddle Camp Grades 6-9 7/22- 7/26 2024

9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Open to students entering Grades 6-9 in Fall 2024 with at least two years of experience on your instrument

Cost: $170

Space is limited in each instrument group.

Join Jack Hasselbring (HBS, RMS Orchestra Director) and Nathan Bishop (freelance musician/educator) for this fun camp.

Camp will be rehearsals for a Friday afternoon concert on July 26th.


Are you a band or orchestra member looking for a new experience? Try Flute & Fiddle Camp! During this course wind players and orchestra members (violin, viola, cello, bass) will have the opportunity to learn the basics of traditional Irish music (as well as some Scottish and American bluegrass). Students will learn jigs, reels and airs as well as basic ornamentation and performance practice.  Woodwind experience is recommended, but brass players with two years experience may also participate on Irish tin whistle (provided).

Camp hours will include sectional and full ensemble rehearsals as well as listening to performances by famous musicians.

Friday evening will be a concert to celebrate the campers’ accomplishments.

Band Camp Grades 6-9 7/15-7/19 2024

Band Camp at Readington Middle School

If you are registering on or after July 9th we will do our best to accommodate your preferred t-shirt size

Monday-Friday July 15th-19th 2024

9:00 am – Noon

Open to students entering Grades 6-9 in Fall 2024 with at least one year of experience 

Cost: $170

Space is limited in each instrument group.

Join Jessica Richter (HBS Band Director), John Hylkema (RMS Band Director) and Jack Hasselbring (HBS/RMS Orchestra Director)  for this fun camp.


Participants will learn how to play music from their favorite movies on their instruments.

Camp will be rehearsals for a Friday afternoon concert on July 19th.

The time will include sectionals, big band rehearsals, listening to different performances and getting to know the other students in the band.

 

CIT (Counselor in Training) Program Summer 2024

Open to teens entering Grades 9 and 10 in Fall 2024

Acquire the skills you need to be a fabulous camp counselor!

Upon successful completion of the one week program, participants may be asked to volunteer for the remainder of the camp session. Volunteer hours may not be the entire camp day or every day.

The application should be completed by the teen, not by parents please.

Summer Camp Extended Day at Healthquest 2024

This link is to register and pay for Extended Day hours held at Healthquest.

This program is open to Readington Summer Rec campers registered until 3:00pm only.

Extended day is Mon-Thurs – 4 days a week ONLY*

*There is no Extended Day program on Fridays because we cannot get a bus on Fridays.


Pick up at Healthquest is between 6:00- 6:30 pm (you can pick up before that time)

Transportation from Summer Road Park to Healthquest is included.

If Rec Camp is closed due to weather, Extended Day campers are eligible to attend full day camp at Healthquest (no bus). If Rec Camp has an early dismissal due to weather, the bus will come early and take the Extended Day campers to Healthquest.

In 2024 there is no camp on July 4th and 5th.  On July 5th, Extended Day campers are eligible to attend full day camp at Healthquest (no bus).


COST IS IN ADDITION TO THE REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER REC CAMP

You must be registered for Rec Camp to register for Extended Day.

Activities included at Healthquest: Swimming (indoors and outdoors), sports, games and more.

Summer Rec Camp BEFORE CARE Program 2024

BEFORE CARE OPTION FOR SUMMER REC CAMP

7:00-8:00 am

Summer Road Park

Regular camp drop off begins at 8:00 am. 

If you need to drop your camper off before 8:00 am please register for this additional hour of camp.

You are welcome to drop off your camper any time between 7:00 and 8:00 am but you must pay for the additional hour in its entirety.

Campers will participate in a variety of activities during this hour.  

Full six weeks of camp: $130

There is no drop in option available.  You must register for your session if you want this extra hour.
