Class description:

Morning studio time for advanced artists, includes a gentle critique by the group at the end of each day.  Artists must bring their own supplies and tools. They may use oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, and/or pencil. Only odorless products may be used. Easels, tables, and chairs provided, or artists may bring their own. Students will assist in setting up tables, chairs and easels at the beginning of each day and putting them away at the end of the day.


Catherine Langley will be the monitor for this studio session

Time: 10:15-11:30 am

Location: Dobozynski Cottage

Cost: $125 includes materials (participants should bring a white tee shirt)


Students will learn or  improve their skills in this fun class session focusing on the basic principles of the art of drawing and painting.

Work on fun and informative projects designed to sharpen artistic skills in the areas of drawing, color theory, and composition. 

This class includes learning to draw your favorite cartoon characters from sketch to finished art.  Students can also develop their own characters.

SPRING 2026 SESSION 2

THIS CLASS OPENS FOR REGISTRATION ON WEDNESDAY MARCH 25th at 9:00 am

Thursdays April 30th – June 4th

Fee $158

Join professional illustrator and art teacher Lena Shiffman for a fun and relaxed art class.  Work from still life set ups by the teacher or use your own photographs.  If the weather permits you can set up outside and paint “plein air”. Work with your favorite medium or pick a new one to learn such as charcoal, pastels, oil, acrylic or watercolor.  If you are new to art, drawing is always a great place to begin.  You can work on one painting all semester or start a new one every week – the choice is yours.  All abilities welcome!
