Longwood Gardens – Chrysanthemum Festival TRIP October 17, 2017$75.00
More than 17,000 Chrysanthemums are nurtured and trained, some for more than a year, by the Longwood Gardens horticulturists to resemble balls, spirals, columns, pagodas and more. Chrysanthemum Festival is the largest display of exhibition chrysanthemums in the US. The star of the show, the Thousand Bloom Mum, boasts more than 1500 perfectly arranged yellow flowers on one plant and is the largest grown outside of Asia. Enjoy lunch on your own at the Cafe or in the 1906 Fine Dining room. Reservations for 1906 Fine Dining can be made on the Longwood Garden website. TRIP TO TERRACOTTA WARRIORS & READING MARKET Nov 14, 2017$75.00
Trip to Franklin Institute to see the Terracotta Warriors Exhibit in Philadelphia. See these ancient Chinese statues found in the burial site of China’s first emperor. This is their only appearance on the East Coast of the US for an exhibit. Also visit the rest of The Franklin Institute – one of Philadelphia’s premier museums. After the Franklin Institute visit the Reading Terminal Market to purchase lunch and/or food from the many local vendors selling food, flowers, cookbooks, souvenirs etc. Purchase lunch from the varied local establishments in the Market if you wish. There will also be food available at the Franklin Institute.
